BARACK Obama received a pre-election lift - when he was hoisted into the air by a restaurant owner.
The president was on the campaign trail when pizza man Scott Van Duzer bear hugged him and thrust him upwards.
And Obama, who was swept off his feet, was celebrating a double pick-up as he also received a funding boost in his battle against rival Mitt Romney.
The Democrat was topping a good day of campaigning in the key state of Florida when he popped into Big Apple Pizza in Fort Pierce.
He said to the businessman: "Scott, let me tell you, you are like the biggest pizza shop owner I've ever seen."
Obama said Scott had "a big heart along with big pecs".
And in response Scott told the president he had switched his allegiance from Republican because of his leadership.
He said: "I don't vote party line, I vote who I feel comfortable with, and I do feel extremely comfortable with him."
Obama was celebrating having raised $114million for his re-election campaign last month - the first time he has over taken his Romney in three-months.
