BREAKING NEWS: Arik Airline To Resume Flights Tomorrow

Arik Air Saturday said it would resume operations after suspending flight operations for 3 days.

“Arik Air is happy to inform its passengers and the travelling public that flights will resume normally as from tomorrow Sunday 23 September, 2012," the Airline said in a message to passengers.

Operations of the heavily indebted airline was disrupted in Lagos on Thursday when union leaders blocked it from operating flights following the company’s inability to meet its financial obligations to both the union and various federal government aviation agencies. In protest, the airline subsequently grounded all its operations nationwide.

It is however unclear as at press time how the company resolved the dispute with the aviation ministry and workers’ union. It was however gathered that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation brokered deal between Arik, the Ministry of Aviation and FAAN during a peace meeting earlier today.
